EQD now offers an equestrian team for grades 6-12. Known as the IEA or Interscholastic Equestrian Association, this team is much like the IHSA (Collegiate) team in format. As taken from their website, "IEA was formed and organized to promote and improve the quality of equestrian competition and instruction available to middle and secondary school students. Its purpose is to set minimum standards for competition, provide information concerning the creation and development of school associated equestrian sport programs, and to generally promote the common interests of safe riding instruction and competition, and education on matters related to equestrian competition at the middle and secondary school levels." To be a member of the IEA team, you must also be a member of the EQD team.EQD Team Equine Differences is also extending a special team to grades K-12. This team will have special clinics and group trips as well as lessons. This team was started to promote the excitement of the younger riders and get them interested in becoming future candidates of the IEA team as well as give them some additional activities in a team atmosphere.
